Narcotics Sting Nets Gardeners and Other Innocent Citizens

Post by Tigerhaze » April 22nd, 2011, 11:35 am

I don't know if you heard, but the Missouri State Highway patrol along with other local law enforcement agencies conducted raids on April 20th (the "420" holiday) at homes suspected to be used by marijuana growers and drug manufacturers.

The raids were supported by anonymous "tips" and profiling supported by staking out certain businesses like gardening suppliers rather than relying on substantive evidence that a crime was committed. Unfortunately, many innocent citizens such as a tomoto gardener were caught up in their Gestapo tactics:

On the TV version of this story, the police apparently said that the right approach is to let the officers in and look around if they ask to (remember they didn't have a warrant). I love how the 4th Amendment means nothing to these officers. If they want more respect from the public, maybe they should respect the rights of the People and the Consititution which provides them with limited authority.
