I was wondering the same thing Hobie....my guess is that the ground temp will still be OK enough for them to come up. I know in my area that if we wouldn't have had the rain, there wouldn't be any regardless.

Maybe Micus could weigh in on this...

Checked my all time honey hole this a.m. Found only one that looked like it had come up since the rain. The rain may or may not help dry areas this late. If conditions do not get right by a certain time the morel aborts and waits for next time. The ground should be warm enough. I would be looking at north slopes. Will be at Cuiver River State Park tomorrow, see what I can find.

Good Luck!

Just a couple of new looking ones on a north slope. We are definitely close to the end in central east MO.

Same here in WC MO. I only found two new ones on north facing hillsides. It's a bummer because I never got into them this year like last year.

Ironically, a friend of mine found a couple nice new ones in southern MO (Wright County).

Tried my honey hole today, only found two so old the ridges were falling off. N MO should still be good.

Had morels with red potato, onions and duck eggs for breakfast this a.m. Yummy!

It may not be done after all here in WC MO......last evening my girlfriend and her son went looking and found around 30 morels just south of KC in Cass County. Most were pretty fresh. I would say in any case that this will probably be the last week for them here.

I wish I had time to get to northern MO....with all the heavy rain they have had it should be a bumper crop. Image

I only had about 30 min. to look on my way home from work.

The smallest was about 2" and the biggest about 8". Total of 24.
