Bear Attack Leads to Prison Time?

Do you have one. If so, tell us about it. Who is allowed in it and what goes on in there.

Bear Attack Leads to Prison Time?

Post by Tigerhaze » December 10th, 2009, 6:24 pm

This is quite an interesting news story- a man from Iowa is now facing Federal prison time and a large fine for protecting himself from a Grizzly bear attack during an elk hunting trip:

I bet bear taste kind'a gamey.

Pussy Law #4: No animal shall be harmed even in self defense, unless specific license and season is in order. Self defense can only be justified by extreme provable peril and or documented visible bodily harm.
I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature’s ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. – Fred Bear

Having been in that area, that really gives me the creeps. Rough country, and I saw grizzly bear tracks out of Yellowstone park. I was about 70 miles north of Jackson WY though.

I'm not so sure about the 13,000 feet elevation though.

Maybe we should rename this forum ODF's prison stories.

Si, I wish I could tell you that I fought the good fight. But prison is no fairy-tale world, Ese. Prison life consists of routine, and then more routine. The Sisters kept at me, sometimes I was able to fight 'em off, sometimes not. That's the way it was for me.
