Bear Attack Leads to Prison Time?

This is quite an interesting news story- a man from Iowa is now facing Federal prison time and a large fine for protecting himself from a Grizzly bear attack during an elk hunting trip:

Pussy Law #4: No animal shall be harmed even in self defense, unless specific license and season is in order. Self defense can only be justified by extreme provable peril and or documented visible bodily harm.

Having been in that area, that really gives me the creeps. Rough country, and I saw grizzly bear tracks out of Yellowstone park. I was about 70 miles north of Jackson WY though.

I'm not so sure about the 13,000 feet elevation though.

Si, I wish I could tell you that I fought the good fight. But prison is no fairy-tale world, Ese. Prison life consists of routine, and then more routine.The Sisters kept at me, sometimes I was able to fight 'em off, sometimes not. That's the way it was for me.
